I was wondering when I can expect my perennials to return, now that the weather is getting warmer (hooray!).  I have hostas, as well as some flowering perennials like sage and tickseed.  I also have a ghost fern from GD last season, which I'm concerned may not have survived this nasty winter -- at what point should I give up on it and find a replacement?  All of these plants are in raised beds, so they're a bit more exposed to the elements than they would otherwise be . . .

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Now's NOT the time to give up!!! Everything should come back.  Just be a little more patient, particularly with your hostas.  Go ahead, however, now and cut back your perennials, that would be only the dead stems and leaves.   Now's the time to give your garden a trim.

I would say the class system only exists if you still believe in it.

But then... I know people will come back and say "but what about this"... so can the OP explain what his definition of CLASS is?
